Chai Powder

Fall is rapidly approaching and with the drop in temperature comes the yearning for warm and comforting flavours. In other words, it’s time to spice up your life! Thus, chai-spiced everything (or pumpkin-spice) is available this time of the year! But let’s take a step back and deconstruct those trendy (and expensive) products shall we? A balanced blend of bold and spicy flavours makes for the perfect chai powder in my opinion: cardamom, allspice, clove, cinnamon, ginger and black pepper.

With the multiple health benefit of spices, why not make your food more toothsome and serviceable to your physiology? I put this mix on or in just about anything: think oats, chickpeas, lattes, curries, waffles, jam; the options are limitless! Let me know how you like to use your chai powder!

Ingredients*:

  • 1 tsp. cardamom, ground
  • 1. tsp. allspice, ground
  • 1 tsp. clove, ground
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon, ground
  • 3 tsp. ginger, ground
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper

Method:

  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Enjoy!

*The spice blend will taste best if it’s made of freshly ground components and stored in an airtight container, in a dark environment.
